Former Leone Stars captain Mohamed Kallon has revealed that he was in shock when he saw one of the fans of his former club in Italy Genoa, put on his Jersey number after 26years.

Kallon took to his Facebook Account with a post “My former team Genoa booked their promotion ticket to the Italian Serie A this Afternoon.. I was shocked when I saw one of their celebrating supporters wearing my #33 Kallon jersey of 26 years ago. Thanks to Allah for bringing me this far

The former Inter Milan Striker  had a brief loan spell at Genoa in 1997-1998 scoring 10 goals  for the Italian club.

Genoa have been promoted back into Serie A after only one year in the second division, joining Frosinone in the step up from Serie B.

They beat Ascoli 2-1 at Marassi with Mattia Bani and Milan Badelj goals to secure their spot. Genoa are the oldest football club in Italy, founded in September 1893, and naturally dominated the sport in its early years with nine titles before Serie A became the current format.
They were relegated in penultimate place last season after a chaotic campaign that saw them taken over by American investors 777 Partners.

This term had started with Alexander Blessin in charge, but he was sacked at the start of December and youth team coach Gilardino promoted to the main job.
