Sierra Leone international Momoh Kamara produced a decisive attacking display as IF Elfsborg defeated Västerås SK 3-0 at Borås Arena on Friday.
Kamara, 21, contributed to all three goals, setting up Julius Magnússon for the opener before scoring twice in the second half to complete Elfsborg’s convincing victory. The result marked the club’s third consecutive win.
Magnússon opened the scoring in the 18th minute after receiving a pass from Kamara, giving Elfsborg a 1-0 advantage at halftime. Kamara then took control after the break, finding the net in the 71st and 77th minutes.
The Sierra Leonean midfielder started the match and completed the full 90 minutes. Match records from Flashscore list him with a 9.4 rating, the highest individual mark recorded on its player profile for the fixture.
His performance has also drawn attention from Elfsborg’s coaching staff. Manager Björn Hamberg described Kamara’s form as strong enough for the club to consider exercising the purchase option attached to his loan agreement.
Kamara joined Elfsborg on loan from Minnesota United FC 2 in March, with the agreement running through the end of 2026 and including an option for the Swedish club to make the move permanent.
The victory moved Elfsborg into third place in the Allsvenskan standings, according to Fotbollskanalen, while extending the team’s winning run to three matches.
Kamara’s latest performance adds another strong chapter to his breakthrough year in Sweden and strengthens his growing importance to Elfsborg’s attack.
