The Board, Management and Staff of Sierra Leone’s National Sports Authority (NSA) have congratulated its Executive Director, Mohamed Alphaka Conteh Esq., following his appointment by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as Match Commissioner for two major continental fixtures.
Conteh has been selected by Africa’s football governing body to oversee match administration and operations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier between Cape Verde and Rwanda and the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary-round fixture between Shooting Stars SC of Nigeria and CS Sfaxien of Tunisia.
In a congratulatory message, the NSA described the appointments as a significant recognition of Conteh’s professionalism, integrity and commitment to sports administration.
The Authority said his selection for two high-profile CAF assignments reflects positively on Sierra Leone’s growing recognition and participation in continental sports administration.
The NSA Board, Management and Staff further expressed pride in Conteh’s achievement, noting that his appointment demonstrates the capacity of Sierra Leonean sports administrators to contribute to the management of major international football competitions.
The Authority said the appointments also serve as an encouragement to other Sierra Leonean sports administrators seeking to contribute to the development and governance of sport beyond the country’s borders.
The NSA extended its best wishes to Conteh as he undertakes the CAF assignments, expressing confidence that he will continue to represent Sierra Leone with professionalism and distinction.
