The Old Edwardians Sports Association Alumni United States has reportedly boosted the Old Edwardians Football Club ahead of the Sierra Leone Premier League kick-off this Friday 9th December 2022.

John Barnette, affectionately known as JB Treasurer of the Old Edwardians Sports Association in the United States, made the presentation on behalf of the Old Edwardians Sports Association at the St. Edward’s Secondary School in May Park, Kingtom.

John Barnette said during his presentation that he was thrilled to be a part of this historic occasion since he has always been a huge supporter of the football team and was happy to win the school league championship with the school in 1973 before relocating to the US.

The Sports Association in the US chapter, which is made up of notable Old Edwardians including Patrick Dangawalie, John Ambrose Cooper, Darlington Tucker, Arnold Robinson, John Dumbuya, Okon Thomas, Albert Thompson, Alhaji Botar, and Hassan Kamara, decided to concert together to support the Team financially before the start of the upcoming Sierra Leone Premier League season, according to Treasurer John Barnette.

He expressed commitment on behalf of the Old Edwardians Sports Association US, saying their support will come intermittently as the team continues their preparation ahead of the start of the league.

The OEFC team assistant team Abdul Haziz Jalloh accepted the token on behalf of the football team and thanked the Sports Association US Chapter for their assistance, saying the executive is grateful for the support and certain the money would be used for the intended reasons.

The Old Edwardians Sports Association US has shown the real spirit of Edwardianism, according to Ishmail Sheriff Esq., President of the Old Edwardians Alumni Association, since this assistance will go a long way toward maintaining the squad in better shape.

Another prominent Okd Edwardian, Reverend Father Peter Conteh, expressed his joy at being a part of this event in his closing words, saying it is always wonderful to give back to our loved ones.
