Team Parliament Fights Back From Two Goals Down to Secure MDA Knockout Spot
The Parliamentary Football Team has qualified for the knockout stage of the 2026 Inter-Ministerial, Departmental and Agencies (MDA) Football Tournament after securing seven points from three matches, remaining unbeaten in Group B.
Team Parliament FC came from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw against the Ministry of Water Resources in a crucial encounter played at the National Stadium Practicing Field in Freetown.
The Ministry of Water Resources took a 2-0 lead in the first half, capitalising on Parliament’s rotated squad. However, tactical changes by Head Coach Hadji in the second half helped Parliament regain control, with the team scoring twice to secure a comeback draw.

Hon. Ibrahim Barrie captained the Parliamentary side, maintaining team discipline and morale throughout the encounter. The Leader of the Opposition, Hon. Abdul Kargbo, and the Opposition Whip, Hon. Abdul Karim Kamara, also featured before being substituted during the match.
The result takes Parliament’s tally to seven points from three matches, comprising two victories and one draw. Under Coach Hadji, the team remains unbeaten and has secured automatic qualification for the knockout stage.

With qualification confirmed, Team Parliament FC will now focus on maintaining its position at the top of Group B ahead of the knockout rounds.
The Parliamentary Football Media Team has called on Members of Parliament and parliamentary staff to continue supporting the team as it seeks to win the tournament trophy.
