The Sierra Leone Premier League Board (PLB) has announced a 50% reduction in the rental cost of the official coaster bus for all top-flight clubs.

Effective immediately, the rental fee has been reduced from NLe 3,000 to NLe 1,500.

The decision, according to the PLB, is aimed at easing the financial burden on clubs amid ongoing economic challenges facing football teams across the country.

Speaking on the development, PLB Secretary Sampha Hassan Kamara said the adjustment forms part of efforts to ensure the sustainability of the league.

“This decision is aimed at supporting clubs in managing transportation expenses more effectively during the course of the season,” he said.

Transport costs remain one of the major operational expenses for Premier League clubs, many of which continue to face financial constraints, particularly following recent fuel price adjustments.

The PLB described the move as part of broader efforts to improve league management and support clubs in maintaining competitive participation throughout the season.
