The second leg of the Leone Rock Premier League kicks off today, Friday, March 15th, 2024, following a slight postponement.

Victor Lewis, Chairman of the Sierra Leone Premier League Board, announced the league’s resumption, which was initially slated for March 8 but was postponed to the 15th due to various issues, including the unavailability of match venues, particularly in Freetown.

In recent weeks, progress has been made on a FIFA-funded artificial turf project across multiple football pitches in the country.

However, the delay in receiving financial support from the Government of Sierra Leone has significantly impacted the decision to defer the kick-off of the second leg by at least seven days.

The board is now striving to regain control over various football pitches to ensure the smooth execution of the second and final leg of the league.

In the first leg, Bo Rangers, FC Kallon, and debutants Bhantal Football Club secured the top three positions with 37, 32, and 21 points, respectively, after 17 league matches.

As the second leg commences, fifth-place East End Lions (27 points) and seventh-place Old Edwardians (23 points) are set to host third-place Bhantal FC and eighth-place Wusum Stars. These matches are scheduled to take place at the SLFA Academy and the Parade playing field in Freetown, kicking off at 4:15 PM.
