Rodney Michael SLFA’s Presidential Aspirant has taken to his Facebook Page to break silence on the issue of President Bio forcing him to withdraw from the FA’s Elections.

Michael in his post stated that he would like to disassociate himself from an article that was published by Cleaner Newspaper on Jun 2, 2021.

According to the article a source had claimed that the President and Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone have forced their candidate, Mr. Michael, to withdraw from the SLFA Elections.

The release reads as follow

TEAM RODNEY FOR SLFA 2021 Elections would like to distant itself from the article in the ‘Cleaner Newspaper’  Edition of 2and June 2021 quoting sources in the Rodney Michael Camp claiming that the President and Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone have forced our candidate, Mr. Michael, to withdraw from the SLFA elections.

Team Rodney would like to inform the general public that no one in the campaign team or associated with the candidacy of Mr. Michael, has ever spoken to the Proprietor/Editor of Cleaner Newspaper, Mr. Fofanah, nor to any of the journalists attached to the paper.

We grimace at the article and condemn the newspaper for a deliberate attempt to create unnecessary embarrassment for our campaign and our Presidential Candidate Mr. Rodney Michael.

It has been the policy of the campaign to focus on the Court of Arbitration for sport court case first before Mr. Michael diverts his attention on the football elections.

We would appreciate Cleaner Newspaper to do a retraction and an apology in their next edition.

Mr. Rodney Edmond Michael remains a provisional candidate at this time and has not withdrawn from the race.
