The Western Area Rural District Football Association (WARDFA) is set to launch a 100 million (Old) Leones Tournament in October.

24 Hour Bloggers said WARDFA will launch the tournament at the Jabbex Complex on Calmont Road in Waterloo this Saturday, September 23.

Junisa Kallon, the Vice President 1 said the tournament is meant to transform football in the Western Rural District.

Organisers of the competition said the theme will be “Rep You Community” and will register teams from various communities in the District.

They said registration is already underway and encouraged communities to send team for competition.

The District has no team in the Sierra Leone Premier League despite hosting one of the highest populations in the country.

Football-loving fans in the district are anticipating that this recent development will motivate football stakeholders in the district to invest in the sport.
