Leone Stars defender Emmanuel Samadia has withdrawn from Sierra Leone’s squad due to injury, ruling him out of the team’s upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) announced that Samadia will miss the opening qualifying fixtures as the national team prepares for its Group-stage campaign.
Samadia has been replaced in the squad by Alex Bangura, who has received a late call-up to join the team ahead of the upcoming matches.
Sierra Leone is scheduled to face Zimbabwe on September 24, 2026, before taking on Equatorial Guinea on September 28, 2026, as the Leone Stars begin their AFCON 2027 qualifying campaign.
The SLFA wished Samadia a speedy recovery and expressed hope for his return to full fitness and the national team.
