Sierra Leone Strongest Man sport will conduct a one-day exhibition and demonstrations on Saturday July 3rd 2021, at the Strongest Man Gym at the Siaka Stevens Stadium.

According to the Technical Director of the Strongest Man sport, Sonny Johnson, they will be having an exhibition to show that they have the equipment needed for the sport and also the athletes will be demonstrating their different skills.

“We are using this event to bring the athletes on board to prepare for the forthcoming Sierra Leone Strongest Man competition which will take place in November this year,” he said.

He revealed that it was barely two weeks to their scheduled competition in Bo before the outbreak of the Coronavirus. “This time around, we are very optimistic about staging the competition in November, so we are bringing the athletes together again so that they will be aware that the competition will take place this year,” Johnson stated.

He said the Strongest Man sport is not only meant for Men alone but also for Women. “We have both Men and Women training and I am calling on more Women who want to be part of the sport to contact me at the Gym at Siaka Steven stadium. I will make sure that they get the necessary trainings as we shall be having contestants in both Male and Female categories in the forthcoming national championship in November.

He confirmed that only 20 athletes within Freetown will be participating in Saturday’s exhibition and demonstrations as there will be additional events to the previous ones and that they will also be organizing exhibitions and demonstrations in the provinces.

Osman Koroma aka Kosombo, one of the athletes that is presently engaged in hectic training said he will be demonstrating his new skills, in his quest to win the next coming Sierra Leone Strongest Man competition.

“The people know what I am capable of doing and I am presently embarking on hectic training in which I always train for six hours daily and six days in a week just to make sure that I am really fit and ready to make my dream to become a champion in the forthcoming competition surely come true,” he said
