SLFA Completes Preparations for National Division One Playoffs with Club
Sia Lucy Kannah The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Competitions Department has concluded its pre-competition meeting with participating clubs ahead of the 2026 National Division One Playoffs, scheduled to commence in Port Loko City.
The meeting brought together representatives of all ten participating teams. The meeting focused on player verification, a review of the competition’s rules and regulations, and the official release of the playoff fixtures.
Furthermore, the Meeting was attended by SLFA Vice President 2, Prince Saquee, and Deputy General Secretary, Ishmail Saidu Kanu Esq, who reaffirmed the Association’s commitment to delivering a fair, transparent, and well-organized competition.
The playoffs will officially kick off on Wednesday, 8 July, at the Port Loko Mini Stadium. Western United will face Marampa Stars in the opening fixture at 10:00 a.m., while Great Scarcies will take on Waterloo FC at 2:00 p.m.
Ten clubs will battle for two coveted promotion places to the 2026/27 Leone Rock Premier League, replacing the four relegated teams following the reduction of the top-flight league to 16 clubs next season.
Finally, the playoffs are expected to showcase some of the country’s finest emerging football talent as teams compete for a place among Sierra Leone’s elite.
