Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has opened bidding to both local and international bidders for the repairing of the Koidu Community field turf in Kono Eastern Sierra Leone which was installed during the Nahim Khadi era.

Koidu Community field is the venue where the two times Sierra Leone Premier League champions Diamond Stars FC stages both their workouts and matches, the field is managed by the Kono District Football Association (KDFA) and also hosts other competitions including matches of the recently concluded ERFA Super Ten, the KDFA division two competitions and other mini-leagues.

The repairing of the turf by SLFA is slated for sixteen weeks and is a project funded by the football world governing body FIFA, however, no plans are yet to be disclosed for the construction of a perimeter fence, as a major reason for the devastation of the turf is due to lack of a perimeter fence and allows people to walk on the pitch uncontrollable
