Fans at the Angola Field in Goderich witnessed a late drama from Freetown City Football Club after injury time substitute, David Sesay beat goalkeeper Kapbindi to record a win against Real Republicans in the Sierra Leone Premier League.
The win has now placed City on 6th place with 39 points after 28 games.
Freetown City FC are now 11 points from the drop zone with 8 games remaining.
A win in at least 3 will secure their safety for next season.
Meanwhile, the defeat for Real Republicans is worrying after it saw them drop to 12th position with 31 points -just 3 points from safety.
The Saturday evening match was very physical and saw a lot of emotional display from players of both teams and also the technical team especially the away side, City.
Centre referee, Ibrahim Turay was busy as he had to issue six bookings in the match including one for City’s masseur, Hassan Turay.
Turay was booked for utterances against the Assistant Referee Abubakarr Kamara in the second half.
In another match at the Attouga Mini Stadium, Ports Authority defeated Bai Bureh Warriors by a goal to nil.
Foday Kai’s last minute strike secured all three points for the Waterfront Boys.
