St. Edward’s Secondary School is known for producing some of the best football talents in Sierra Leone such as the most celebrated Mohamed Kallon.

On Tuesday 19th July 2022 the Sierra Leone Football Association climaxed the National Schools Championship with St. Edward’s Secondary School defeating Holy Trinity Secondary by one goal to nil at the Makeni Wusum Stadium with Mohamed Kemoh Daramy scoring the winner for the May Park Boys.
The National Schools Championship was introduced by the Confederations of African Football CAF to help foster a new generation of African youths and to develop football for both boys and girls focusing on grassroots growth and development to shape future leaders.
Welcoming the Team from Makeni the Principal JSS Mrs. Alimatu Massaquoi congratulated the Boys on behalf of the Board of Governors, Members, Staffs and Pupils for a job well done in Makeni City.

“The Team was very determined from the start and we knew the task was not going to be easy as the competition was extremely tough and the Boys represented the school admirably,” stated Mrs. Alimatu Massaquoi Saint Edward’s Secondary School Principal JSS.

Representing the Old Edwardians Football Club the assistant Team Manager Abdul Haziz Jalloh expressed delight with the performance stating after a difficult season for the Football Club these Boys have made St. Edward’s Secondary School proud.

He disclosed that, “the Boys will get Scholarship comprising of different support from us the Old Edwardians as they are the future of Old Edwardians Football Club in the coming years.”

The Captain of the St. Edward’s Secondary School U14 Team Alexander Kamara fondly called ‘Kante’ assured they are optimistic of winning the Zonal Pan African School Championship that is expected to be hosted in Senegal later this year.

Winners of each CAF zones will compete between September and December2022.
It will end with the third stage, the Pan-African Interschool Championship finals where finalists of the zonal championship will meet both boys and girls.
Details of this final stage will be around March/July 2023.
