The Sierra Leonean side entered the encounter needing a positive result after losing their opening match of the competition. They responded strongly, producing a disciplined performance to secure three important points.
After a goalless first half, Star Sport Academy returned from the break with greater attacking intensity and eventually broke the deadlock in the 60th minute.
