There have been tussle and drama as the Sierra Leone Tennis Association is set to hold its elective congress slated for 4 March 2023.
The incumbent President Kelvin Kellie was elected in 2019 as the outbreak of Covid 19 interrupted 2 years of his tenure which affected the full implementation of his stewardship agenda.
President Kellie further confirmed that 45 delegates are eligible to be part of the process, noting that the criteria to become a delegate is for one to own and pay their financial commitment up to date, register and for the clubs to be in good standings.
However, Vice President of the Murray Town Tennis Club, Andy Bah has recently condemned the action of President Kellie, following a letter he copied First Lady, Fatima Bio in a letter reminding members of upcoming stakeholders meeting and the elective congress slated for early March.
According to A-z newspaper, the press release indicating the name of her Her Excellency is not in-line with the Purpose of the stakeholders meeting.
“I don’t know why the First Lady was copied because she never been part of Tennis all these years,” he said
The VP added that Her Excellency loves sports but I don’t think she is aware of this or maybe he (Kelvin Kellie) is using this to threaten us.
“We can never be moved by this threat,” he stated.
