The National Homebased team Manager, Umaru Bah has pledged the sum of $10,000 to the entire team if they eliminate Cape Verde in the CHAN qualifier first round later this month in Morroco.
The Sierra Leone National senior men’s team (Leone Stars Homebased) delegation has left the shores of Sierra Leone for Morroco to engage Cape Verde in the CHAN qualifier.
The team has accelerated its preparation as the two legged clash against the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde in the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2023 Qualifiers draws closer.
Technically headed by former Leone Stars’ right back Francis ‘Zappa’ Koroma, the 23-man home based squad were camped in Kenema where they underwent two sessions of training daily (morning and evening) with a high level of intensity and determination.
Sierra Leone is expected to host her Cape Verdean counterpart in the first leg of the tie at the Grand Stade in Marrakesh, Western Morocco on Sunday July 24 whiles the Blue Sharks will return the favor of playing host on Wednesday, July 27 this year at the same venue as both countries currently lack a CAF approved home stadium.
