After almost 30 years, I finally met Mr. Sheku Kamara popularly called (SK), the first Koinadugan if not the the only Sierra Leonean who singlehandedly made a vehicle using scrap metals and a Honda 70 engine and drove it from Kabala Town to Yogomaia Field during the popular yearly Kabala Agricultural Show organized by one of the greatest politicians of all times, Hon. Kawusu Konteh.

Mr. SK was born in Kabala, the son of Pa Bunduka Kamara and Mama Worokia.

He attended both DEC Primary and Kabala Secondary School respectively.

A naturally gifted technician who lived far ahead of his age as a teenager going up in small town Kabala those days.

When SK took his hand-made car to the jam-packed Agricultural Show, President Siaka Stevens was so impressed with his invention that he decided to fly him abroad for further studies, but destiny didn’t work out for and he decided to enlist into the Sierra Leone Armed Forces where he played as lead Solo Guiterist with the Military Dance Band alongside Big Faya and many other top stars.

Mr. SK is now a retired officer but still not given up on his determination to invent something far more bigger than the vehicle he invented several years ago. During our brief encounter in Kabala, he faithfully promised me that invention will be out very soon, InshAllah, he concluded.
