AYV to Investigate Video Implicating Journalist Samuel Wise Bangura
Morlai Ibrahim Kamara The Management of African Young Voices Television [AYV] has issued a Press Release today, 8th August 2023 confirming that their attention has been drawn to a video circulation on social media involving one of their staff, Samuel Wise Bangura.
AYV acknowledged that they understand the concerns and questions raised by the public, and they expressed commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
In line with the company’s policy, AYV affirmed that they have established an Independent Committee to investigate the circumstances surrounding the video.
The AYV journalist claimed he was robbed on Monday afternoon of $7,000, iPhone 14 pro max, and other valuables. But a report and video from a social media blogging platform, Salone Gossip and other sources say Bangura was engaged in illegal activities.
As it holds itself to the highest ethical standards, AYV encourages the public to report any relevant information in relation to the issue via email.
This game is a set up.
May God help you Bangura, but really Samuel is not innocent. The video is real, no way to escape.
You have good reputation in the country. But the falcons can not hear the falconer’s.
Samuel said he took that video while he was on an investigation. Again, was there any formal complain made against Samuel to the police or AYV? No!

Mr. Samuel Wise Bangura is a season Journalist in this country and I sure he could not indulge himself into such activities. Many folks in this country lack the ability to think critically. If only you have a good and sound reasoning skills you cannot conclude shortly in having doubt in this gentleman. Sierra Leone is a country where thieves are celebrated and demonizing the cent. There is no way the perpetrators can kill the spirit and passion of this Mr. Samuel Wise Bangura in journalism. He is among the very few Journalist in this country that do not put party loyalty to his profession. 95% of the Journalist in this country are under the Brown envelope of politicians (lay belleh journalist).
I stand tall to tell anybody that this event is a clear setup to undermine the independent of the Press. Sierra Leoneans must wake up. If those motivated individuals succeeded in this, tomorrow it could either be me or any other person else that stands for the poor masses in this country.
If Samuel was in the process of investigating case, who was the criminal he was investigating? Because the camera was just focusing on him, even the person that was doing the actual work was never showing in the video and I am strongly believe that the camera man was using secret camera, Samuel was never aware of the recording so to me he is not innocent in this
It’s just a matter of time, but his innocence will be show if he’s innocent, it will also show is guilt if he’s guilty. I encourage all Sierra Leonean to be positive and wait for the final results. God is the true revealer of secrets, we will soon know the truth.
Why should a reputable & seasoned journalist such as Samuel should involve in such activity ? And why should he carry/parade With such a huge sum of money ( $7,000). Really I’m still not convince that he was there to cover a story on illegal activities. The truth shall set us free

I knew from the start that the story by S.W.B. was too good to believe.
The man was double-crossed by the double-crossers.
He tried to buy public sentiment to get people to give him money, phones, bags, and perhaps cars.
