Sierra Leone’s Chief Justice, Hon. Justice Komba Kamanda, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Judicial Council of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
The appointment was made by the Authority of Heads of State and Government, led by Sierra Leone President, Dr. Julius Maada Bio.
As Chairman, Justice Kamanda will preside over the Council’s deliberations, which includes all Chief Justices from ECOWAS member states.
The Judicial Council notably plays a crucial role in promoting judicial cooperation and ensuring the rule of law across the region.
Justice Kamanda’s leadership is expected to enhance collaboration among the member states and strengthen the judicial systems within ECOWAS.
