The Ministry of Gender and Children’s Affairs has received laptops, printers and other digital equipment from Irish Aid and UN Women to strengthen documentation, communication, reporting and administrative services in Bonthe, Karene and Pujehun.
Officials said the support will enhance the capacity of district staff to deliver gender and child protection services and respond more effectively to vulnerable communities. The digital tools are also expected to improve field monitoring, community engagement and coordination.
The assistance forms part of continued collaboration between the ministry and its development partners to strengthen institutional capacity and improve service delivery at district and community levels.
The digital equipment was handed over alongside six motorbikes and dignity kits. The motorbikes will improve staff mobility, particularly in hard-to-reach areas, while the dignity kits will support women and girls accessing safe homes and other protection services.
District representatives welcomed the support, saying the improved logistical and digital resources would help teams reach communities more effectively and deliver services with greater efficiency.
The handover marks another step in efforts to strengthen the ministry’s district presence and improve services for women, children and other vulnerable groups across Sierra Leone.
