Sierra Leone’s Ambassador for Entertainment and Investment, Kao Denero, has proposed a landmark event to celebrate President Julius Maada Bio’s appointment as Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

The proposed ECOWAS Entertainment Festival, set to take place in Freetown in 2025, is envision to have Entertainment and sports celebration, that will bring top act from all the ECOWAS countries under the theme:
ECOWAS for Peace & Sustainable Development.

Sierra Leone should be very proud to have a President that is also the chairman of ECOWAS,” Ambassador Kao Denero stated.

The proposed festival will feature:

ECOWAS Entertainment Festival – Bringing together top-tier musicians, dancers, and cultural icons from across the subregion for a spectacular music experience in the heart of Freetown.

ECOWAS Football Friendly – A unifying sporting event showcasing camaraderie through football between select ECOWAS teams.

ECOWAS Awards(Arts, sports and public services) – Honoring outstanding individuals in the fields of arts, sports, and public service, highlighting the diversity and brilliance of the region.

Kao Denero stressed that the event will not only be a festival but also a symbol of progress for the subregion. He added that it will also put Sierra Leone in the spotlight as a major force for regional development. He noted that it will also be a gesture of appreciation for President Bio’s visionary leadership in Sierra Leone and West Africa.
