The Government of Sierra Leone, through the National Public Health Agency (NPHA), has confirmed 22 new Mpox cases, increasing the total number of confirmed cases to 4,550.
Meanwhile, the country recorded 76 new recoveries, increasing the total number of recovered patients to 4,129. There are now 389 active cases being monitored, and the death toll remains at 32.

The Ministry of Health and Sanitation is urging the public to remain alert and cooperate with health officials as they continue to respond to the outbreak. Community leaders are advised to help enforce hygiene practices and report suspected cases immediately. 
Sierra Leone started recording Mpox cases earlier this year. The government declared an emergency after cases began to surge especially in the Western Urban area. The district is Sierra Leone’s most populous —hosting the capital Freetown and other densely populated suburbs.
although cases are gradually reducing, authorities have warned against complacency.
