The Government of Sierra Leone is poised to enhance its agricultural productivity through a potential partnership with Enterprise Fertilizer Factory, a prominent Turkish company.
The development follows a productive meeting between Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to The Gambia, H.E. Martha Kanagbo, and Enterprise Fertilizer Factory CEO Fevzi Orak.
During the meeting, Mr. Orak, a seasoned chemical engineer from Turkey, expressed a strong interest in collaborating with the Sierra Leonean government to supply high-quality fertilizers.
His company is notably well-regarded for distributing fertilizer products across North Africa, the Middle East, the Balkan region, Europe, and more recently, The Gambia.
Orak indicated his readiness to travel to Freetown for direct discussions with Sierra Leone’s Minister of Agriculture and other key stakeholders. He believes that this collaboration could significantly benefit the agricultural sector in Sierra Leone.
H.E. Martha Kanagbo emphasized that enhancing agricultural productivity is a critical national priority for Sierra Leone. She noted that fertilizer plays a vital role in achieving food security, making this potential collaboration a timely opportunity to address existing challenges within the country’s agricultural landscape.
The government is encouraged to seize the opportunity as part of its commitment to food security and sustainable development.
