Two newly established media outlets in Sierra Leone Truth Media and G8 Media Group have reportedly had their broadcast frequencies withdrawn by the country’s regulatory authority just days before their scheduled launches.

Truth Media was set to commence operations in June 2025, but due to the withdrawal, it was unable to start operations. Both media outlets had completed preparations to begin operations.

Reports indicate that the decision by the authority follows internal concerns within government circles, alleging that Amadu Lamarana Bah of Truth Media is critical of the government and aligned with a so-called “regime change agenda.” Similar claims were reportedly used to justify the action against G8 Media Group.

The regulatory body has not issued any formal public statement regarding the issue.
