The Honourable Member of Parliament for Kailahun District, Constituency 002, Hon. Fallah Kenawah Tengbeh, has voiced grave concern over the acts of the Guinean Armed Forces (GAF), which flew a Guinean national flag near an illegally constructed beacon on September 30, 2025, about 30 meters beyond Yenga village.
The MP condemned the action as a “callous negation” and “illegal occupation” that directly affects Sierra Leone’s sovereignty and degrades the dignity of the Yenga border region.
While reaffirming Sierra Leone’s commitment to peace and diplomacy, the MP outlined three key recommendations: immediate deployment of security forces to strategic villages including Yaladu, Fendu Kpongoma, Payluang, Kamalo, and Kpaingbakordu; rapid engagement with international bodies such as the International Court of Justice (ICJ); and increased investment in national security to prevent future violations.
“The people of Yenga deserve peace, safety, and respect,” the MP stated.
