Sierra Leone winger, Augustus Kargbo has netted first goal for Blackburn Rovers and helping his team secure a crucial point in the English Championship.
Kargbo placed in a low short to the left corner with his weaker foot to cancel Million Manhoef’s opener for Stoke City at the Ewood Park.
The winger, who joined Rovers from Serie B side, Cesena has been in the spotlight for failing to create more impact since joining the English club. His performance against the Potters is believed to be the spark he needed for an improved form.
Rovers are currently in 21st place with 7 points from 8 matches. They will play Oxford United in their next fixture hoping to capitalise on their recent result at the Ewood Park.
For the Sierra Leone national team, Kargbo’s goal is the right thing they need right now as they prepare to face Burkina Faso in an all-important FIFA World Cup African Qualifiers on Wednesday, October 8, at the Samuel K. Doe Stadium in Monrovia, Liberia.
Looking ahead, those upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Burkina Faso and Djibouti October 8 at the SKD Sports Complex in Liberia, and on October 12 in Casablanca, Morocco respectfully.
