The Minister of Youth Affairs, Ibrahim Sannoh, conducted a courtesy visit to the National Youth Service (NYS) headquarters on Friday, May 17, 2025.
Addressing the staff and board, Minister Sannoh clarified that his purpose was not to praise or criticize, but to offer encouragement and advice to strengthen the institution.
“We are here to serve, nothing is permanent,” Minister Sannoh stated, thanking the NYS staff and management, with special recognition for volunteers, for their service to the nation.

He urged the team to work collaboratively, emphasizing that “a house divided amongst itself will not survive.” He stressed the critical need for a united approach to achieve the agency’s goals.
The Minister was warmly welcomed by the Executive Director of the National Youth Service, Onanah Jalloh, who expressed gratitude for the “timely visit.”
During the meeting, Executive Director Jalloh outlined the NYS mandate and detailed its positive impact on the lives of Sierra Leonean youth. He concluded by reaffirming the service’s commitment to its mission and assured the Minister that all his advice would be taken seriously.
