President Julius Maada Bio has officially opened the National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT) brand-new office in Moyamba, describing the development as a significant milestone in his administration’s drive to improve public service delivery.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, President Bio said the new facility represents a positive step toward providing faster and more efficient services to citizens in 2026 and beyond. He emphasized that the office aligns with his government’s decentralization agenda, aimed at bringing essential services closer to the people.
The establishment of the Moyamba NASSIT office is expected to ease access to social security services, particularly for retirees, who previously had to travel to Freetown to process benefits and make inquiries. With the new office in place, beneficiaries in Moyamba and surrounding districts can now access services more conveniently and at reduced cost.

The President expressed optimism that the initiative would improve service delivery and enhance the welfare of retirees, noting that it reflects the government’s continued commitment to inclusive development.
