Freetown Mayor Highlights Importance of Co-Financing at World Bank Event in Morocco

The Mayor of Freetown, Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr, has joined global leaders, multilateral development banks, private sector partners, and sovereign funds in Casablanca, Morocco, for the World Bank’s “Power of Co-Financing” event.

At the high-level gathering, Mayor Aki-Sawyerr emphasized the need for stronger coordination and accountability among development partners to ensure that co-financed projects deliver meaningful and sustainable impacts for urban communities, particularly in cities like Freetown.

She also expressed appreciation to the World Bank Africa team for providing a platform to share insights and engage with stakeholders on improving collaborative financing models for city development.
