The Sierra Leone Police has declared Zainab Sheriff, a member of the All People’s Congress (APC), wanted in connection with alleged offences relating to incitement and threatening language.
In a public notice issued by the police, Zainab Sheriff is wanted for “an alleged case of threatening language; incitement and other related offences.” According to the notice, a warrant of arrest has been issued under reference number W/A 105/2026.
The police described Sheriff as a Sierra Leonean adult and a model by occupation, with her address listed as Freetown. The notice further identified her nationality as Sierra Leonean.
The statement, which was circulated by the Sierra Leone Police, called on members of the public to assist with information that could lead to her arrest. “Suspect, Zainab Sheriff has been declared wanted by the Sierra Leone Police for an alleged case of threatening language; incitement and other related offences,” the notice stated.
The police urged anyone who sees or has information about her whereabouts to contact the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters in Freetown, the nearest police station, or call the numbers provided in the notice: +232-80-306-232 or +232-78-583-069. The police also indicated that a reward would be offered to anyone who provides useful information leading to her arrest.
As of the time of this report, the police have not released further details regarding the specific circumstances surrounding the alleged offences. There has also been no official statement from Zainab Sheriff or representatives of the APC in response to the declaration.
The Sierra Leone Police said the action forms part of ongoing efforts to address alleged offences related to incitement and to ensure that individuals facing such allegations are brought before the law.
