The Office of the Administrator & Registrar General (OARG) has announced the passing of Haja Mariama Seray Kallay-Zubairu, the country’s former Administrator and Registrar General.
She died on February 16, 2026, at the age of 75.
Kallay-Zubairu is being remembered as a dedicated and respected public servant whose influence on the legal system remains evident in the institutions she helped build.
Colleagues and observers have noted that her life was marked by an unwavering dedication to service, leaving behind a legacy of professionals who were inspired by her guidance and leadership.
Born on July 17, 1950, she served a distinguished tenure leading the OARG.
