Two men have tragically lost their lives following a gruesome road accident that occurred between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. yesterday along the Port Loko Highway.

According to reports, a taxi driver collided with a motorbike carrying the two men. The impact of the crash resulted in the immediate death of both the rider and his passenger at the scene.

One of the deceased has been identified as Alimamy Conteh, based on an identification card found on him. The identity of the second victim, however, remains unknown at this time.

The bodies of the two victims have since been transported to the Port Loko Mortuary, where they are currently being kept as authorities continue efforts to identify the second individual and investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.

Road accidents are common along major highways in Sierra Leone. Authorities like the Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority (SLRSA) and the Sierra Leone Police have advocated for road users to adhere to traffic rules.

However, some critics have called some authorities for allowing road users who disregard traffic rules and signs along some major highways.
