Sierra Leone, UK Deepen Cooperation to Tackle Violence Against Women and Girls
Sierra Leone has joined the United Kingdom in discussions aimed at strengthening efforts to prevent violence against women and girls and improve protection for victims.
The discussions brought together members of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association UK Delegation and representatives from both countries during a reception hosted by the British High Commission at the High Commissioner’s Residence on Main Hill Station Road, Runnymede, Freetown.
The meeting provided an opportunity for representatives to review progress in addressing violence against women and girls and explore ways to strengthen cooperation between Sierra Leone and the United Kingdom.

Participants discussed opportunities to reinforce joint efforts to prevent violence, improve protection for women and girls, and sustain collaboration on an issue that remains a concern in both countries.
The engagement also highlighted the role of diplomatic and parliamentary cooperation in supporting dialogue and identifying practical approaches to addressing violence against women and girls.
The reception forms part of ongoing engagement between Sierra Leone and the United Kingdom on issues of mutual concern, including the protection and well-being of women and girls.
