Hon. Mohamed Festus Lansana was officially sworn in as a Member of Parliament representing Kenema District on Thursday, 26th March 2026, following the passing of Hon. Mariama Ella Goba.
The swearing-in ceremony was conducted in accordance with the 1991 Constitution of Sierra Leone (as amended), particularly provisions relating to the Proportional Representation system.
Declaring the seat vacant and the subsequent replacement, the Rt. Hon. In line with Section 83 of Act No. 6 of the 1991 Constitution and Standing Order 1(A), the Speaker invited the Clerk of Parliament to administer the Oath of Office. Supported by parliamentary leadership, Clerk Karmoh K. Conteh administered the oath, officially inducting Hon. Lansana into Parliament.
Hon. Lansana now assumes responsibility for representing the people of Kenema District.
