First Lady Fatima Bio has applauded the Chief Justice, His Lordship Justice Komba Kamanda, for his extraordinary leadership in hosting a high-level judicial gathering in Freetown, describing his efforts as a reflection of vision, commitment, and deep respect for justice across the region.

Delivering remarks on behalf of President Julius Maada Bio at a send-off dinner held at the prestigious Lagoonda Hotel, Aberdeen Beach, marking the end of the first ECOWAS Judicial Council Statutory Meeting, the First Lady commended the Chief Justice for organising what she described as an exceptional event in honour of visiting Chief Justices, distinguished judges, and eminent legal personalities from across West Africa.

“Your leadership transcends the boundaries of duty,” she stated, emphasising that Honourable Chief Justice Kamanda’s stewardship has not only strengthened Sierra Leone’s judiciary but has also fostered collaboration, unity, and hospitality within the sub-region.

She noted that the gathering symbolized a broader commitment to building relationships beyond courtroom engagements, relationships that promote trust, mutual respect, and progress within the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

The First Lady further described the event as a testament to excellence and a clear demonstration of the Chief Justice’s belief in the importance of regional solidarity. She commended him for the dignity and grace with which he continues to serve, underscoring the enduring strength of judicial cooperation within ECOWAS.

The sendoff dinner concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by High Court Judge, Honourable Justice Khalila Diana Kamara, who expressed appreciation to all participants and organizers for contributing to the success of the landmark event.
