Renowned Sierra Leonean rapper Drizilik on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, engaged and inspired students of Prince of Wales School in Kingtom, Freetown, as part of UBA Sierra Leone’s Leo and NextGen Savings Account School Tour, an initiative aimed at promoting financial literacy and youth empowerment.

The event, held on 16 June 2026, brought together students, banking professionals, and education stakeholders for an interactive session focused on financial responsibility, savings culture, and preparing young people for a secure financial future.

Speaking to the students, Drizilik encouraged them to develop positive financial habits at an early age, emphasizing the importance of saving, making informed financial decisions, and investing in their personal development. His message resonated strongly with the students, many of whom actively participated in the engagement.

The school tour forms part of UBA Sierra Leone’s efforts to introduce young people to its digital banking solutions and youth-focused financial products. During the session, representatives from the bank’s Brand Marketing and Corporate Communications Department, alongside members of the Personal Banking Team, educated students on the benefits of the Leo digital banking chatbot and the UBA NextGen Savings Account.

UBA explained that Leo enables customers to carry out banking transactions through digital platforms, including WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, and iMessage, providing convenient access to banking services. The NextGen Savings Account, meanwhile, is specifically designed for young people between the ages of 18 and 25 and seeks to encourage a culture of savings among students and young adults.

As part of the engagement, UBA Sierra Leone, through the UBA Foundation and in partnership with the ABC Family, donated educational materials under the Read Africa Initiative. The donation of African literature books to students was aimed at promoting reading habits and supporting educational development among young learners.

Bank officials described the initiative as more than a promotional campaign, noting that it seeks to equip young people with the knowledge and tools necessary to make sound financial decisions while encouraging academic excellence and personal growth.

The NextGen School Tour continues to serve as a platform for engaging students across the country, combining financial education, digital innovation, and youth development to prepare the next generation of leaders for future success.
