The Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), has announced the date for the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
According to the Ministry, the examination will commence on Monday, 6th July 2026.
The Ministry said the adjustment was made following careful consideration of logistical and administrative requirements aimed at ensuring a smooth, fair, and well-organized examination process nationwide.
It added that it is aware of the anxiety the uncertainty may have caused among candidates and their families, and assured the public that measures are in place to ensure the examinations proceed without disruption.
The Ministry further reassured parents, teachers, and pupils of its commitment to a transparent and well-coordinated process, adding that the full timetable and further updates will be released through official channels in due course.
