A woman identified as Kadiatu Sankoh, an adult resident of Mile 38, has died after being struck by a motor vehicle in the Mile 38 community.
According to the Sierra Leone Police, the incident involved a vehicle bearing registration number ANU 744, allegedly driven by Thaimu Kanu of Benguema Barracks, Waterloo.
The victim reportedly sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Connaught Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. Her body has since been taken for a postmortem examination.
Police confirmed that the driver was arrested at the scene and is currently in custody at Mile 38 Police Station, assisting with investigations. The vehicle involved has also been impounded for inspection as part of the ongoing investigation.
