Twenty-one-year-old Alusine Kamara, a tricycle rider, has been sentenced to 30 months imprisonment by Magistrate Mary Julia Gbloh of Pademba Road Court No. 5 in Freetown on one count charge of fraudulent conversion contrary to Section 20(1)(iv) of the Larceny Act, 1916.
When the charge was read and explained to him, the defendant pleaded not guilty.
According to the indictment, on Friday, 12th May 2026, at Congo Cross in Freetown, the defendant fraudulently converted to his own use and benefits certain property entrusted to him by Patrick Kargbo for commercial purposes.
The property included one tricycle (Keke) with registration number AZY 247, together with its licence slip and number plate, valued at Le6,000, and one tricycle tire with rim valued at Le1,200, bringing the total value to Le7,200.

In her judgment, Magistrate Gbloh stated that the prosecution had called three witnesses and successfully proved its case beyond reasonable doubt. She therefore found the defendant guilty as charged.
Considering the seriousness of the offence, Magistrate Gbloh sentenced Alusine Kamara to 30 months imprisonment.
