Fast-rising Sierra Leonean artist Lazani Bakitenno has declared his ambition to achieve international recognition, setting his sights on winning either a BET or Grammy Award within the next five years.
In a recent interview with Liberty Online TV, the musician shared his vision of attending the prestigious BET Awards alongside prominent African stars such as Rema and Fireboy DML. He expressed confidence that he would one day represent Sierra Leone on the global stage and be part of a historic breakthrough for the country in major international music awards.
Bakitenno emphasised that achieving this goal would require strong public support from Sierra Leoneans. He called on fans to move beyond bias and instead show consistent encouragement for his music career.
“If the people of Sierra Leone support me, I will surely reach there,” he said, adding that increased backing would motivate him to produce more quality music and elevate his craft to international standards.
The artist remains optimistic that with unity and sustained support, Sierra Leone can eventually secure recognition on the global music stage through its creative talents.
