The Sierra Leone Ports and Harbours Authority (SLPHA) has issued a public warning distancing itself from a fake recruitment advertisement circulating on social media, which falsely claims that the Authority is recruiting casual workers on a three-month contract.

In a public notice released by its Communications Department, SLPHA described the advertisement as fraudulent and clarified that it did not originate from the institution.

The Authority urged members of the public to disregard the fake advert and cautioned them against contacting or making payments to any individual or phone number claiming to facilitate employment opportunities on its behalf.

According to the statement, all official recruitment exercises conducted by the Sierra Leone Ports and Harbours Authority are announced solely through the Authority’s verified communication channels and credible media outlets whenever vacancies arise.

SLPHA further advised the public to remain vigilant and rely only on its official Facebook, website, WhatsApp, and X (formerly Twitter) platforms for authentic information regarding employment opportunities and other official announcements.

The Authority reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and fairness in its recruitment processes, while warning the public to be cautious of fraudsters seeking to exploit job seekers through deceptive schemes.
