Residents of Bendu Town and Kangama Town are celebrating after Eastern Mining Company officially handed over a newly constructed road connecting their communities.

The road links Bendu Town in Gbane Chiefdom to Kangama Town in Soa Chiefdom of Kono District, Eastern Province, Sierra Leone. It will make transportation easier, help farmers move their goods, and give residents better access to schools, clinics, and other services.

Hundreds of community members, local chiefs, government officials, and security personnel attended the handover ceremony.

Residents cheered as company vehicles and motorbikes entered their towns for the first time. Many called it a historic moment for their communities.
