Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education Conrad Sackey has announced that he will officially release the 2026 National Primary School Examination (NPSE) results today at 10:00 a.m.
In a statement posted on his official Facebook page, Minister Sackey said he will announce the results live on Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) television and radio.
“At 10 AM Today, I will announce the 2026 NPSE results on SLBC TV and Radio,” he stated.
The Minister noted that this year’s results represent more than just examination outcomes, describing them as evidence of where pupils currently stand and an indication of areas that require greater attention and support.
“This is evidence of where our pupils stand. This is clarity on where we must strengthen. This is accountability, to our pupils, to our parents, to our nation,” he said.
Minister Sackey encouraged the public to tune in to the announcement and carefully follow the results, while calling for a collective commitment to supporting pupils in the next stage of their education.
“Let us see what our children have accomplished, and let us commit together to what comes next,” he added.
Today’s highly anticipated release follows the nationwide examinations held on May 9, 2026. A total of 166,839 pupils—comprising 79,862 boys and 86,977 girls—sat for the transition assessment at centers across Sierra Leone.
The NPSE is one of the most vital public examinations in Sierra Leone’s education system. It marks the culmination of six years of foundational primary education and strictly determines a pupil’s placement into junior secondary schools.
