The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) have declared Freetown resident Yusif Sannoh wanted in connection with an alleged case of office-breaking and larceny involving money reportedly stolen from a school following a social event.
According to information provided in the police wanted notice, Sannoh is an adult male, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, of fair complexion, and was last known to be residing in Congo Town.
The police have issued an official warrant of arrest, CID HQ W/A No. 110/2026, under criminal record number 3193/2026, in connection with the alleged offence.
Sannoh reportedly worked as a night security guard at a school and also covered weekend daytime shifts.
The incident reportedly occurred following a Family Day social event organised by the school on April 26, 2026, at the Radisson Blu Garden in Freetown.
According to the account of the incident, proceeds from the event were taken to the boss’s office the following morning, Sunday, April 27, which fell during the extended Independence holiday period. Sannoh allegedly assisted in removing the bag containing the money from a vehicle and taking it into the office.
The money was reportedly kept in the office with the expectation that it would remain secure and be deposited at the bank after the extended Independence holiday.
However, later that Sunday night, Sannoh allegedly broke into the office and stole the entire bag of money.
In the early hours of Monday morning, at around 3:00 a.m., he reportedly contacted the daytime security guard and asked him to come and relieve him, claiming that a family member was seriously ill and that he needed to go home.
The daytime security guard reportedly arrived at about 5:30 a.m. but could not find Sannoh at his post.
On Tuesday morning, when the boss arrived to open the office, she reportedly discovered that the office door had been broken and that the bag containing the money was missing.
Attempts were subsequently made to contact Sannoh, while checks were reportedly conducted at his residence and among his family members. However, he could not be located and was said to have absconded.
The matter was subsequently reported to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), but according to the account provided, Sannoh had already left the area.
The Sierra Leone Police are now appealing to members of the public to provide any credible information that could assist in locating and arresting him.
Anyone who sees Sannoh or has information about his whereabouts is urged to contact CID Headquarters on B&L Pademba Road, Freetown, or report to the nearest police station.
The police have also provided the following contact numbers for information: +232-77-848-450 and +232-76-113-184.
The SLP said a reward will be given to anyone who provides actionable information that directly leads to Sannoh’s arrest.
