The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) have arrested a couple and recovered hundreds of wraps of substances suspected to be Kush during an intelligence-led operation in Aberdeen, Freetown.
The operation was conducted on Sunday, 23 August 2026, by the Aberdeen Police Division under the supervision of the Local Unit Commander (LUC), CSP Zainab M’balu Cline Thomas.
According to police, officers acted on credible intelligence about a makeshift structure behind Kabba Garage in Aberdeen that was allegedly being used for the processing and distribution of suspected Kush.
Police raided the location and arrested Mohamed Sheku Kamara and his fiancée, Isata Kamara, who both reside behind Kabba Garage.
During the operation, officers recovered 645 pink wraps, 203 blue wraps and 10 sachets of substances suspected to be Kush, bringing the total number of suspected Kush wraps and sachets recovered to 858.
Other items recovered included two pairs of scissors, a weighing scale, a blender, a quantity of rolling papers and Gold Seal cigarettes.
The LUC has ordered that the suspects, along with the suspected narcotics and other confiscated items, be transferred to the Transnational Organised Crime Unit (TOCU) for further investigation.
The Sierra Leone Police have urged members of the public to provide timely and credible information to assist authorities in combating drug-related and other organised crimes.
