Management of Sierra Rutile Hospital/Clinic in Imperi Chiefdom has engaged the Bonthe District Health Management Team (DHMT) to strengthen health data management, coordination of health interventions and the delivery of quality healthcare services in the district.
The engagement brought together representatives of Sierra Rutile Hospital/Clinic, including Medical Officer Dr. Farma and the Hospital Matron, and officials of the Bonthe DHMT.
Discussions focused on improving the collection, collation, compilation and reporting of health data from the facility, while ensuring that hospital-level activities are better aligned with the priorities and health systems of the Bonthe DHMT.
The two sides also discussed the need to strengthen healthcare workers’ capacity, particularly in maternal and child health services, as part of efforts to improve the quality of care provided at the facility.
A major focus of the engagement was the challenge of ensuring timely and accurate reporting of health data. The DHMT’s Monitoring and Evaluation One (M&E-1) highlighted key gaps in the facility’s reporting processes and stressed the importance of complete, accurate, timely and reliable data for effective health planning, monitoring and decision-making.
The M&E-1 further assured the Sierra Rutile team of the DHMT’s continued technical support through its Monitoring and Evaluation Unit to strengthen data collection, collation, analysis and reporting at the hospital.
The engagement is expected to enhance coordination between Sierra Rutile Hospital/Clinic and the district health authorities, while promoting greater consistency in health reporting and the implementation of health interventions.
The collaboration forms part of broader efforts to strengthen the district’s health information system and promote evidence-based decision-making aimed at improving health outcomes and service delivery across Bonthe District.
Through strengthened coordination, technical support and improved data management, the DHMT and Sierra Rutile Hospital/Clinic are seeking to contribute to a more effective and responsive health system in the district.
