The Transnational Organised Crime Unit (TOCU) of the Sierra Leone Police has seized a large consignment of suspected Tramadol tablets during an operation at Patton Street, via Mama Yoko Street, in central Freetown.
The operation was led by Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Brima Kanneh, alongside other senior police officers within his jurisdiction. Police reportedly moved swiftly to intercept the suspected drugs and arrest individuals allegedly connected to the consignment.
Several cartons of substances believed to be Tramadol were seized during the operation on Thursday, September 3, 2026.
The arrested suspects, together with the seized substances, have been taken to the TOCU headquarters, where further investigations and forensic analysis are expected to be conducted.
Meanwhile, reports emerging from the area also claim that a man identified only by his nickname, “Skinny,” was allegedly killed during the incident. Details surrounding the reported death remain unclear, and it has not yet been independently confirmed whether the alleged killing was directly connected to the police operation.
