Sierra Leone’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Honourable Mohamed Rahman Swaray, has visited the country’s Embassy in Monrovia, where he assessed the operations of the Mission and discussed measures to further strengthen Sierra Leone-Liberia relations.
Minister Swaray was received by Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to Liberia, His Excellency Eddie S. Massally, alongside diplomatic, administrative and support staff of the Embassy.
During the visit, Ambassador Massally introduced members of the Mission to the Minister, who commended the Ambassador and his team for their commitment to advancing Sierra Leone’s diplomatic interests and providing services to Sierra Leonean citizens in Liberia.
Minister Swaray subsequently held discussions with Ambassador Massally on the Embassy’s priorities and its role in supporting the Government’s foreign policy objectives and deepening bilateral cooperation between the two neighbouring countries.
A major issue discussed was the ongoing rehabilitation of the Embassy’s Chancery building. Minister Swaray stressed the need for diplomats and staff to operate in a safe, conducive and dignified environment, noting that improved working conditions are important to the effective delivery of diplomatic responsibilities.
Ambassador Massally briefed the Minister on the progress of the rehabilitation works, assuring him that the project was advancing steadily and being implemented in line with the required standards.
The Minister’s visit was part of his broader engagements to strengthen Sierra Leone’s diplomatic missions and ensure that they effectively represent the country’s interests abroad.
